Destination Imagination Information
We strive to teach students the creative process and empower them with the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. To develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills and creativity.
Destination Imagination, Inc. (DI) is a leading educational non-profit dedicated to teaching students the skills needed to succeed in school, their careers and beyond. DI is a fun, hands-on system of project-based learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity
Through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) education with social entrepreneurship. Participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.

The Algoma School District participates in the Challenge Program. Each year, DI works with educators and industry experts to develop seven new academic Challenges in the fields of STEAM, social entrepreneurship, and Early Learning (Rising Stars!). Students work in teams to research, design and build a solution to their preferred Challenge. Organized by age and grade, teams are made up of 2-to-7 members and operate under the guidance of an adult Team Manager.
Students who participate in the challenge program have the opportunity to present their solutions at the BayLake Regional Tournament. If a team qualifies at the regional level they are invited to participate at the Wisconsin Affiliate (State) Tournament. If a team qualifies at the state level they are invited to participate at Global Finals, the culminating international tournament that celebrates student creativity.
