EmailWelcome to the Algoma School District!
It is a privilege to serve as Superintendent of a district that is truly setting the standard for excellence in education. At Algoma School District, we are a student-centered community committed to preparing every learner for a successful future.
What sets our district apart is our unwavering dedication to the whole child. We offer rigorous academics, award-winning programs, and a wide range of opportunities that support learning, social, emotional, and physical development. From early childhood education through high school graduation, our students are challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
The Algoma School District is proud to offer a comprehensive educational experience for children from 6 months through 12th grade. We provide two distinct child care programs for our youngest learners. Our elementary school serves students from 3K to 6th grade, where educators deliver rich, research-based literacy and math instruction. Our middle and high schools, housed in a single building, provide tailored education for students in grades 7-12. We prioritize small class sizes to foster frequent engagement and collaboration between students and teachers.
Innovation is central to our mission. We invest in modern classrooms, up-to-date technology, and continuous professional development for our educators, ensuring students are prepared for an ever-changing world. Our commitment to strong values—equity, integrity, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed regardless of background—remains unwavering.
Examples of our innovative approach include the Algoma Venture Academy, a public charter school open to all students in grades 7-12. This academy focuses on hands-on, project-based learning that connects students with the surrounding community. Additionally, our Pathfinder credit recovery program offers a unique pathway for students to catch up on credits and stay on track for graduation with their peers.
Perhaps what makes the Algoma School District truly exceptional is our people — the passionate educators, supportive families, engaged community partners, and, of course, our incredible students. Together, we foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and collaboration that empowers every student to find their voice, discover their passion, and reach their full potential.
As you explore our website, I invite you to learn more about what makes the Algoma School District one of the best places to learn and grow. Whether you are new to the district or have been part of our community for years, thank you for your partnership and support. Together, we are building a brighter future — one student at a time.
Warm regards,
Jesse Brinkmann
